Establish a Working Writing Wall
Hold up their writing. Where does mine fit?
Having a progression wall. Have a good example of it up so they can hang their ideas on what it looks like.

Hexagonal Thinking:
Where the students have their goals identified and co-construct what they are working on. When you conference with them they can converse about it. Highlight a side when they have got it until it's fully highlighted.
